Battioke is Back!

Shane Battier returns....on the mic.

While Heat Nation certainly misses Shane Battier and his defense, you can see him on offense on a microphone instead.

The former Miami Heat player and his wife Heidi will host the fourth annual "South Beach Battioke" on March 3rd at 8pm at the Fillmore Theatre in Miami Beach. In case you have no idea what Battioke is, it's a upscale event in which guests watch players and staff of the Miami Heat organization become pop stars for a evening and all for a great cause.

Here's a look at last year's Battioke event.

"We are proud that we have been able to engage our community and sent brilliant young minds to colleges and universities through the fundraising efforts of South Beach Battioke" said Battier.

Last year's event was attended by more than 600 people and raised more than $300,000 dollars. This event provides funds and awareness for The Battier Take Charge Foundation, a non-profit organization which awards college scholarships to underprivileged high school students in Miami, Houston and Detroit.

You can purchase tickets at www.takechargefoundation.org. Tickets are $175 in advance, which will probably be a good idea considering admission at the door is $250. First 100 general admission tickets also get a personalized Shane Battier autograph. The admission price includes food from top resturaunts in South Florida and an open bar. You also have to be 21 and over to attend.

If you can't make the event, you can still donate through the website.

You may also need ear plugs depending on who is singing.
