The Sun-Sentinel's Ira Winderman tweeted today that the Miami Heat have declined to pick up their $1.3 million team option on forward Michael Beasley, making the former No. 2 pick a free agent July 1.
And Heat have elected not pick up option on Michael Beasley for next season.

The oft-maligned player posted a picture on Twitter and Instagram signaling the news, saying, "Goodbye Miami."

The Heat can still sign Beasley to a non-guaranteed contract. But keep in mind that Miami only signed Beasley last year amid the team's rash of injuries, including Chris Bosh's season-ending blood clot. And the Miami Herald's Barry Jackson said that Pat Riley's decision to draft Justise Winslow was a "major factor" in the decision to allow Beasley to test the free agency waters. Maybe this really is the end of Michael Beasley in a Miami Heat uniform.
