Another roster move came about today, one that isn't as shocking. The Heat informed Henry Walker that he will be released. Walker was under a non-guaranteed contract.
The Miami Heat will waive forward Henry Walker today, league sources tell RealGM. If Walker clears waivers, return to Miami is possible.

After the release, the Heat roster is down to 14 players, with the expectation that rookie guard Josh Richardson will be signed soon to bump it back up to 15 players.
Walker was a valuable player for the Heat once injuries set in late in the season. But he never showed the consistency t warrant a spot over some younger players with higher potential. Once Miami acquired Justise Winslow and Amare Stoudemire, it was clear that Walker wasn't in the plans.
Per @ShamsCharania: The Heat, as expected, will waive forward Henry Walker today. His $1.1M contract was to become $100K guaranteed on 8/1.

Walker, however, could find a return to the Heat under a different deal here very soon. He was due over $1 million, but could be re-signed to another non-guaranteed contract of a lesser value in hopes of making the team if some roster changes happen.
Walker averaged 7.3 PPG last season.
