Free agent forward Gerald Green has reached agreement on a one-year deal with the Miami Heat, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) July 9, 2015
Green is a SG/SF who the ability to dunk, mostly, and he can also shoot from deep when he's on. He's a 29 year-old, 8 year NBA veteran. Last year he averaged 11.9 PPG in Phoenix. He's played for 7 NBA teams throughout his career, but spent the last two with the Suns.
We will have more of a breakdown of Green and how he fits into the Heat's plan here soon. But with Luol Deng slotted as the starter at SF and Dwyane at SG, this puts some competition for James Ennis and Justise Winslow as they battle for a backup role.
Green's deal will be for the minimum.
