The Miami Heat is expecting guard Tyler Johnson will miss the remainder of Summer League play in both Orlando and in the upcoming tournament in Las Vegas after he was diagnosed with a fractured jaw.
Johnson suffered the injury after a hard screen that was set at mid-court during the third quarter of the Heat's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. He also was reported to have lost a tooth on the play, in which he fell to the floor and stayed for several minutes before leaving the game.
He has returned to Miami, where he will be re-evaluated by Heat oral surgeon Dr. Larry Brown.
The second year guard impressed the Heat enough in last year's Summer League to earn an invite to training camp and was eventually was signed to a pair of 10-day contracts during the regular season before signing on for the rest of the season.
