Open tryouts for Sioux Falls Skyforce announced

New, comments

Want to play for the Miami Heat NBDL affiliate Sioux Falls Skyforce? You can try out for them in two locations.

Remember that time you were playing a pickup game and you were draining everything from long distance? and you thought to yourself "man the Heat could use me right now."

How about that one game a handful of months ago, when  you were blocking, rebounding and swishing long jumpers, as if you were the next Chris Bosh..and you thought to yourself "I could be the next Chris Bosh for the Bosh-less Heat."

Well now you no longer need to think about these things. You can actually do it. Seriously. The Miami Heat's D-League affiliate (Sioux Falls Skyforce) announced today that the team will hold open tryouts for the 2015-16 season in Miami on Sunday, September 27 and Sioux Falls on Saturday, October 10.

If you're a hooper reading this, it's an opportunity to showcase your talents in front of Skyforce coaches and Miami Heat personnel. If you stand out enough, you will get an invite to the NBA D-League team’s training camp in November.

The try out in Miami will be Sunday, September 27 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. (you have to check in by 8 a.m.) There is also a pre-registration fee of $150 and the deadline to register is by September 25th. The tryout will take place at Ransom Everglades High School, located at 3575 Main Highway, Miami, FL 33133.

Now does possibly playing in the D-League mean you could be called up for the Miami Heat? Well we can't guarantee anything but Tyler Johnson and James Ennis are both rotational Heat players now that started in the D-League. Also your starting center Hassan Whiteside, who is set to have a breakout 2015-16 season also was a D-Leaguer. Now excuse me while I go work on my jump shot.
