Winslow joins Duke championship team at White House

New, comments

The Miami Heat's 2015 first-round pick joined his Duke Blue Devil teammates at the White House ceremony to commemorate the national championship team.

Ah, the customary national championship visit to the White House. Miami Heat fans may remember that President Barack Obama told LeBron James, "It's your world, man" at the Heat's 2013 visit to the White House. James then said, "This is like, 'Hey Mama, I made it.'"

Well, Justise Winslow already has that feeling.

The Heat's 2015 first-round pick joined his 2014-15 Duke men's basketball teammates to celebrate their national championship Tuesday. As Heat fans will remember, the event was a fun, joke-filled ceremony. The President name-checked all the Duke stars, saying that Winslow "was flying all over the place, dominating some games of the tournament."

This White House visit came on the heels of Heat President Pat Riley's declaration on The Dan LeBatard Show that his team "has all the elements of a championship team." Here's to hoping that Winslow will find himself smiling in the White House again sometime soon.
