It's All-Star weekend and week for the NBA, and so FanDuel advice for lineups is on a break. Typically, I would give you some advice here about some great value plays for various level players. But this week, I want to offer you some insight into different ways to play FanDuel and general lineup advice.

Editor's Note: SB Nation's partner FanDuel runs a money fantasy basketball league all the time. Half of the league win cash. Join next week when it's back!

Here are the 4 ways to play FanDuel:
50/50's & Multiplies, Tournaments, Leagues, and Head 2 Heads.

But after you choose what type of league you want to join, the most important thing about FanDuel is picking a lineup. You get $6,667 FanDuel dollars to choose your lineup. Players range from $3,500 to $11,000+ for you to choose a 9-man lineup made up of two players per position except for center, just one.

So I want to throw out some ideas for you to consider when picking your lineups:

  • Choose playing time over the popular name
  • Take advantage of injuries and play the cheap backup
  • Recognize it's not all about scoring points (hustle stats are valuable, too)
  • Choose bench players only when playing at home (consistency)
  • Be careful of rookies (inconsistent)
  • Spend big money on guards over bigs
  • Recognize the travel schedule and days off for the players you choose
  • Always look at the matchup
  • Choose your value pieces first, and fill in the roster second
  • Always pick Stephen Curry (joking, although not really)

I hope that helps you pick your team! Choose wisely, have fun and join us on FanDuel! I've had so much fun playing FanDuel and would love for you to start playing. Following these pieces of advice can help you pick a lineup that scores big. Read the NBA FanDuel Beginner Guide HERE
