Tonight at 10PM, the Miami Heat will visit the Sacramento Kings at Sleep Train Arena. This is the second and final game between the two clubs this season. Miami won the first on their home court on November 19th, 116-109.
In that game, 6-4 Miami earned their win against 4-8 Sacramento behind 24 points, six dimes and five rebounds from Dwyane Wade. Chris Bosh had 23 with 11 rebounds and four helpers, and Tyler Johnson came off the bench for 19 with three assists and three boards. Rajon Rondo finished one rebound short of a triple-double, scoring 14 with 18 assists, and Marco Belinelli led the Kings with 23 points in their loss.
I just felt that I needed to be more aggressive offensively. Sometimes I got into the mode of too much playmaking and maybe my shot became second nature and today I just tried to flip it. - Wade
The Heat are playing in the second game of a three-game road trip. They lost the first one, 102-100 in overtime against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night, and will finish it up late tomorrow versus the Portland Trail Blazers.
Miami's loss to L.A. came despite a 26 point, 10 rebound, five assist night for Wade. Luol Deng had 22 with 11 rebounds and three blocks, and Hassan Whiteside chipped in with 18, 17 boards, and seven blocked shots. Jordan Clarkson had 26 points with six rebounds, and John Randle scored 13, including the game-winner along with 14 boards.
It was just total disrespect to the opponents tonight. Those guys are good players, and you have to play them the same way you play an opponent you fear. We didn't do that, and that's why they got the win. - Wade
The Kings are bringing a mini-two-game-homestand to a close after defeating the Washington Wizards, 120-111 on Wednesday night. They'll go back on the road for their next contest, against the Denver Nuggets tomorrow night.
In their win over the Wizards, Sacramento had six players finish in double figures, led by DeMarcus Cousins 29 points with 10 rebounds, four assists and four blocked shots. Rudy Gay, Omri Casspi, and Rajon Rondo each pitched in with 15 (Rondo also had 11 helpers). Bradley Beal led the Wiz by scoring 24 points, helped out by 20 from Otto Porter and 15 from Nene Hilario.
We just took advantage of their second unit. We've got good players off the bench for us that have been playing well all season. Koufos had a good game, Omri had a good game, and Ben (McLemore) came in and did some good things on the defensive end. - Kings guard Nick Collison
