The prolific NBA reporter said that the two sides are expected to complete the deal soon. Fizdale has spent the last eight seasons with Miami and served as Erik Spoelstra's top assistant.
For the Heat, this move represents a bittersweet ending. Fizdale helped Miami win two championships, working with Dwyane Wade and LeBron James on their post games. But with Spoelstra likely to remain the coach for a while, the 41-year-old assistant needed to go elsewhere to grow as a head coach.
