Dwyane Wade reportedly cancels free agent meetings with other teams

New, comments

Has there been a resolution between Wade and the Heat or has he made his decision to leave the team?

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Dwyane Wade appeared to be set to participate in meetings with other NBA teams this week in the wake of an impasse with the Miami Heat over his new contract.

Now those meetings have apparently been cancelled, but what does it mean? Has Wade and the Heat reached an agreement or is the interest from the Cleveland Cavaliers and a reunion with good friend LeBron James, who he just finished vacationing with in Spain, too tempting to pass up?

Wade's meeting the Milwaukee Bucks has certainly been cancelled but no word on which other teams were scheduled to meet with the three-time NBA champ.

ESPN's Brian Windhorst is now reporting that Wade is seeking a two-year, $50 million deal and is talking with the Denver Nuggets and the Chicago Bulls.

Heat Nation must now hold its breath on what the next step for Wade is. We'll have more information as soon as it arrives.

If you're Pat Riley, would you offer more than the reported two-year, $20 million to secure Wade and allow him to retire with the only NBA team he's played for or do you let him walk to allow the team to rebuild around their younger core?
