It's that time of the year again when Miami assembles a talented team of athletic performers to thrill the crowds at AmericanAirlines Arena during the NBA season.

That's right, the Miami Heat are on the hunt for the best local dancers and they'll be holding auditions Sunday, August 7 at the AAA with registration beginning at Gate 3 promptly at 10 until 11:00am. Right after that, dancers will need to show off their skills and prove why they should be chosen to get called back. Those lucky few, about 40 or so, will be put through what's being called "boot camp" from Monday, August 8 through Thursday, August 11 between 6 to 11pm each night , which will better assess their skills, fitness, and dance ability.

Heat Dancer Finals will then be held Friday, August 12th at 7:00 p.m. at the AmericanAirlines Arena where the 2016-17 Heat Dancers will be announced.

Because of the large initial turnout, the Heat are encouraging participants to pre-register online before Sunday. Auditions are free to join and dancers must be 18 years of age or older.

As for what to bring to the audition besides a great attitude and what the Heat are looking for, we got you covered:

All hopefuls must bring a resume and headshot, a government issued ID and wear appropriate dance attire and non-marking footwear. All dancers must have flexible schedules for rehearsals, games, community and charitable appearances during the season.
