Wayne Ellington cooled off in the second half of Miami’s 104-93 win over the Atlanta Hawks Monday — the first time that the Heat have been above .500 since Miami was 1-0 last year — but he still tied a franchise record.
Ellington went 6-for-7 from beyond the arc in the first half (Ellington actually hit all of his 3s in the second quarter), tying a franchise record that Brian Shaw set in 1993. Take a look at his first-half show.

The Heat also set a franchise record, hitting 13 3-pointers in a half Monday night.
Heat franchise record: 13 3s in a half. Previous record for any half was 12, for a first half was 11.

The performance from Ellington is a welcome sign, considering he had struggled from downtown in the preseason and in Miami’s opener. The Heat will need consistent shooting from Ellington to prove their 30-11 end to the 2016-17 season was not an aberration.
