Spurs this season are not the ones Heat faced in 2013 and 2014 with Tim Duncan.

Miami Heat host a 3-0 San Antonio Spurs team on national television Wedneday night. Both teams aren't the same on which competed in the classic 2013 and 2014 NBA finals. This season the Spurs are last in 3-point percentage, 3-point attempts, and 3-point made.

Gregg Popovich shifted to LaMarcus Aldridge and Patty Mills as primary shot makers, 61 and 40 each this season. Aldridge works out of the post, and Pops adapted the Spurs game to his. This season the Spurs aren’t raining three’s like 2014.

Fortunately the Heat have James Johnson, Justise Winslow, Josh Richardson, Bam Adebayo as post defenders.

What's intriguing is how Pops has manage to change the identity of the team from raining threes to old-fashioned post-plays for a 3-0 start. The Spurs game will show who wins this chess match in front of a national broadcast audience.
