The Miami Heat, fresh off of a 108-99 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Friday, have a quick turnaround as they face the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Heat (24-30) are the talk of the NBA, reeling off 13 consecutive victories, one of which came at the expense of the 76ers exactly one week ago. In that matchup, the 76ers were without likely Rookie Of The Year Joel Embiid and it appears they will be without his services again tonight. In the last matchup, Hassan Whiteside finished with 30 points and 20 rebounds in 27 minutes of action so it is likely that Miami hopes he has another big game against an undermanned frontcourt. The Sixers have struggled without Embiid, losing seven in a row before a one-point victory against Orlando on Thursday.
Miami will likely be without Dion Waiters for the 3rd consecutive game as he recovers from an ankle injury. Wayne Ellington has filled in ably as the starter, sinking 8 three-pointers in his last two starts and Miami has also received contributions from Tyler Johnson and swingman Rodney McGruder.
Tipoff is set for 7:30
