ESPN panel predicts Heat to go 44-38, finish sixth

The panel said that Miami was not as bad as last season’s start, or as good as last season’s finish.

As I mentioned earlier this month, ESPN’s real plus/minus formula predicts that the Miami Heat will finish with 42.3 wins and a seventh seed in the playoffs.

The worldwide leader’s panel of NBA analysts was a little more generous.

In a forecast of the NBA playoffs, an ESPN panel predicted the Eastern Conference standings. This article had Miami finishing 44-38, good enough for the sixth seed and a match-up with the Washington Wizards. The panel thought that Miami was neither the 11-30 team that started last season nor the 30-11 season that ended it.

How do you think the Heat will do? Be sure to let us know in the comments.
