A few short years ago it would have been nearly impossible for Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith to agree on anything. Now, with both working at different networks, they finally have something in common, and that’s the belief that the Miami Heat will actually be good this season.
In July, Bayless tweeted out that he thought the Heat were the 2nd best team in the Eastern Conference. Today Stephen A. nearly echoed his thoughts on First Take saying:
“I think outside of Boston and Cleveland, who are superior offensively, I think Miami could be a team that could surprise a lot of people,”
“I like this young team... they have a lot of guts, a lot of moxie,” Smith said. “I saw Pat RIley, the great Pat RIley in Vegas a few days ago, he loves this team, he is excited about them.”
The Heat were spectacular in the latter half of last season. Despite bringing back the same core, most analysts are counting Miami out. It will be interesting to see if the Heat fall into the middle of the pack, or prove everybody wrong. Again.
