Dion Waiters has revealed that his ankle surgery is set for Monday. Waiters, obviously pumped up because of the Eagles’ win, posted on his Instagram saying:
“If you from philly then we all kno wassup ✊ ✊ ✊ I get surgery tomorrow this game help calm my nerves. BigTime!!!! EAGLES!!!”
This surgery is a big deal. We all know what kind of force Dion can be when healthy, and having him healthy for next season will be huge. Though there is no official timeline, The Miami Herald referenced the Heat’s statement that said he’s expected to be out at least 8-10 months.
Since Dion elected to get surgery the Heat have applied for a $5.5 million disabled player exception. The exception can only be used to acquire a player who’s on an expiring contract, or one who gets bought out (usually around the trade deadline).
Injuries are awful, but it’s good to know Waiters will be recovering soon.
