Game Preview: Heat hit the road to face Nets in search of a win

New, comments

Miami has already lost several winnable games but are desperate to end their current losing streak.

Game Story:

The Miami Heat are still missing some important players but they’re quickly running out of time and excuses as the losses at home and against subpar teams continue to mount. They’ll once again be without Dwyane Wade, who is with his family after the birth of his daughter last week, when they visit the Brooklyn Nets tonight in the first of four road games in their next six games.

Goran Dragic bounced back from his first scoreless game as a member of the Heat with 22 points and five assists against the Philadelphia 76ers and he’s going to need another solid game to help put this current three-game losing streak behind them. Hassan Whiteside should encounter little resistance in the paint and has tallied a double-double in his last four games, including back-to-back 20-rebound performances, but was hampered by foul trouble during the Heat’s latest loss. If he can refrain from collecting silly fouls and if the Heat’s playmakers keep feeding him the ball, he could potentially have another monster game.

Along with Wade, the Heat will continue to be without James Johnson and Dion Waiters. For the Nets, they caught a lucky break (no pun intended) with the news that leading scorer Caris LeVert was diagnosed with a dislocated right foot and is expected to return this season after suffering the injury in a scary fall in their loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves two days ago.
