Over the summer, Heat center Hassan Whiteside bought a $50,000 M16 assault rifle, ammunition, a rifle bag and a silencer. The next day, Whiteside couldn’t find the rifle bag or the M16.
The reason? The Heat center had left everything in his unlocked Rolls Royce.

Whiteside’s gun was later found in a stolen vehicle in July. Miami 640 AM radio host Andy Slater first reported this story Nov. 15.
The NBA’s leader in blocks released a statement through the Heat saying that he should have secured his rifle better, and that he only uses it at a gun range.
