Game Story:
The Miami Heat have seemingly been able to right the ship with a pair of solid wins against the Detroit Pistons and the San Antonio Spurs after a three-game losing streak in which their opponents each scored at least 123 points. In their last game, they were led by a monstrous performance by Hassan Whiteside who almost single-handedly helped the team hold the Spurs to just 88 points with nine blocks, countless other shots altered and 20 rebounds.
Now they return to the AmericanAirlines Arena to host the Indiana Pacers tonight and a new defensive challenge awaits them. Indiana has lost their last two games, both at home, but remain a dangerous team with Victor Oladipo — who had 36 points, seven assists and six rebounds in their last outing — always a threat from just about anywhere on the court. Justise Winslow, Rodney McGruder and whoever else is tasked to defend him tonight will have their hands full regardless.
UPDATE: Dwyane Wade will miss his second consecutive game after celebrating the birth of his daughter yesterday and Goran Dragic will now be sitting out three of the last four games due to ankle soreness. Derrick Jones Jr. has also been ruled out after leaving Wednesday’s game early with a bruised right knee.
Tonight will also mark the return of the “Vice” theme with new black jerseys and a repainted court. It’s going to look badass, period.
