The Miami Heat (13-16) are returning home from a six-game road trip out West that saw them go 4-2. The first game back? Against Chris Paul, James Harden and the Houston Rockets (16-14). Miami is getting Houston on the backside of a back-to-back, one in which the Rockets set a NBA-record with 26 three-pointers made last night.
When: Thursday, December 20 at 8:00 p.m. ET
Where: AmericanAirlines Arena, Miami, FL
TV: TNT, Fox Sports Sun
Win Probability: According the FiveThirtyEight the Heat have an 36% chance to win.
Houston: Chris Paul, James Harden, James Ennis, PJ Tucker, Clint Capela
Miami: Justise Winslow, Josh Richardson, Rodney McGruder, James Johnson, Hassan Whiteside
Rockets: Nene Nilario (Day-to-Day)
Heat: Dion Waiters (Day-to-Day), Goran Dragic (Out)
What To Watch For
The Heat will now be without Goran Dragic for 2 months. With this in mind, does Spoelstra opt to fill the gap of point guard differently? Will Winslow, Wade or Tyler Johnson do the heavy handling? We’ve seen them without Dragic plenty lately, but now the Heat have to start thinking long term. The other issue that arrives will be who guards Chris Paul? Please don’t let Whiteside switch those screens!
