GAME PREVIEW: Whiteside and Embiid square off in Philly

New, comments

The Miami Heat are visiting the Philadelphia 76ers for the first regular season matchup of Embiid and Whiteside.

NBA: Preseason-Miami Heat at Philadelphia 76ers Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Heat continue a four-game road trip as they visit the Philadelphia 76ers (24-24). The Heat beat the Mavericks and then lost by 2 to the Cavaliers, and they will play in Detroit tomorrow night.

This is the first regular season matchup between Embiid and Whiteside who have had some Twitter beef in the past. Embiid, now an All-Star, sat out the earlier this week and is expected to play tonight.

The Heat need a win here to stay in the 4th seed in the East, which is now very crowded between 4-7.

What To Watch For

Hassan and Joel

I mean this is part of the reason the game is on ESPN. Both like to talk and both want to do some work. This will be the matchup that is to watch for and I also think could dictate the game. Both teams need to neutralize the other player to find some success. Who will do that better?
