Rodney McGruder is close to returning.
After suffering a stress fracture of his left tibia in preseason, he underwent surgery in early October. McGruder has reportedly made a lot of progress in that time and is incredibly close to a return. It has been reported by Tom D’Angelo that before he suits up for the Heat, McGruder will be assigned to the G-League to play two games with the Sioux Falls SkyForce.
Rodney McGruder will play for Sioux Falls in LA Saturday and Monday and rejoin Heat on Tuesday

Before his injury, McGruder looked good in preseason where he averaged 7.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists. He also shot 51.9 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from beyond the arc.
It’s unclear if McGruder will return to his starting role right away, but with the frequency Spo changes his lineups there is a chance he does eventually.
The Heat get hit with the injury bug a lot, so getting Rodney back is a win. Some of last season’s highlights are below:
