For whatever reason teams with Rodney McGruder win basketball games

Sioux Falls Skyforce won both games with McGruder on the court, as he continues his recovery from surgery.

By the numbers Rodney McGruder didn’t have a great game last night, but his teams just keep winning games.

Last season McGruder was a fixture for the Miami Heat in the starting lineup as they almost made the playoffs with searing second-half attempt.

McGruder’s stats don’t overwhelm, but he manages to find ways to make his teams come out on top as the buzzer sounds.

In last night’s win against the Agua Caliente Clippers, where McGruder was listed as the starting center(?), the highlight plays belonged to Briante Weber as he made a steal and assist off the backboard, plus a circus shot for a score.

Rodney McGruder scored only 11 points, but you can see he bobs and weaves through traffic to wind up being in the right place, at the right time for winning plays.

The evening belonged to Weber though, with his 18 points, 11 assists, 8 rebounds and 4 steals.

Too bad Derrick Jones Jr. can’t make 3-point baskets in the NBA like does in G-League, as he scored 18 points versus the Clippers.

Don’t know when McGruder will return to Miami, but hopefully sooner rather later as the Heat are a full 3 games behind the Indiana Pacers, Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers in the all-important loss column.

Speaking of the 76ers, as a team they are simply horrible jump shooters, because the Washington Wizards totally shut them down outside the restricted area and limited them to dunks and three-point baskets.
