Joel Embiid out for Game 2 against Heat

Embiid has cleared the NBA’s concussion protocol, though.

The Philadelphia 76ers had no problem blowing out the Miami Heat in the second half of last night’s Game 1 victory without Joel Embiid. And the Sixers will be without him again Monday night.

The team announced that Embiid had cleared the NBA’s concussion policy, so he may return before the series is over. Embiid sustained a fractured orbital bone near his left eye in late March. He hasn’t played since then, but the Sixers have been undefeated in his absence.

For the Heat, they should be focused on limiting the 3-point shooting of the Sixers — and that’s with or without Embiid on the floor.
