According to Yahoo Sports’ Shams Charania, Heat forward, James Johnson has undergone surgery for a sports hernia. Apparently the surgery was recent. This is the first I’ve heard that Johnson was injured, notwithstanding his ankle bursitis earlier in the season.

If Johnson was hurting during the Heat’s first round series against Philly, he didn’t show it. He was as aggressive as ever in the series and brought a ton of energy on both ends of the floor.
As of right now, there isn’t much information on Johnson’s surgery besides the Shams tweet, but I’ll continue to update this post as news surfaces.

Ira reports that the Heat have confirmed the surgery and that he should be back for training camp.
