Miami Heat fans may recall that the Orlando summer league has sunset, preventing the Heat from taking advantage of their proximity to the Florida city to develop young free agents and draft picks. But Miami has signed up to participate in the newly formed Sacramento summer league before joining the rest of the NBA for the Vegas summer league.
The Sacramento Kings, Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers will join the Heat at the Golden 1 Center for the summer league. The Heat team will arrive in Sacramento June 28 for four days of practice before playing games during the first week of July.
As of now, the Heat do not hold a draft pick in either round of the upcoming NBA Draft.
