It may not only be Heat fans who are unhappy with Tyler Johnson’s impending $19.2 million salary for this year.

An unsubstantiated social media post featured a quote attributed to Phoenix Mercury Britney Griner saying, “You have mediocre players like Tyler Johnson making almost $20 million a year. We deserve more respect.” Griner took to her verified Instagram account to say that she never said that — and added that she doesn’t even know who Johnson is.

Of course, Griner has a point. Griner, who is a five-time WNBA All-Star, is earning $113,500. The minimum NBA salary for 2018-19 is $838,000. Even the best WNBA players don’t earn close to as much money as the players who barely make it onto an NBA roster.
