The Miami Heat announced today what we have known would happen for a few days — that Udonis Haslem signed a one-year, $2.4 million deal.

Pat Riley commented on the signing, saying that it is great to have the captain back.

Haslem, the Heat’s all-time leader in rebounds, signed for a franchise-record 16th NBA season with Miami. Earlier in the off-season, Haslem expressed frustration with his lack of playing time — he only played in 14 games last season — and mentioned playing overseas as an option. But whatever his qualms, the Miami native is ready for another season with the Heat.
