ESPN’s Bobby Marks is a front office insider for the network’s NBA coverage. Previously, he served as the Vice President of Basketball Operations and as General Manager for the Brooklyn Nets. And he believes that the Heat could put together the best trade offer for Jimmy Butler.
A Whiteside/Richardson for Dieng/JB might be the best offer Minny could get especially within a 48H window until camp begins.— Bobby Marks (@BobbyMarks42) September 23, 2018
Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor wants to trade the disgruntled Butler quickly, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Taylor and Butler want to execute a trade by Minnesota’s first day of practice on Tuesday.
So far, Pat Riley and Miami have been as aggressive as any team in pursuit of a Jimmy Butler trade with Minnesota, league sources tell ESPN. Ownership still prefers to find a deal by early this week, sources said.— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) September 23, 2018
Miami’s media day is tomorrow. Should Miami trade away their best two-way player, Josh Richardson, for Butler, who may not give his commitment to re-sign with the Heat in the summer? On the other hand, Butler has been a Third-Team All-NBA player for the past two years. Can Richardson ever be that good?
Pat Riley may have to work this Sunday.
