Game Preview: Heat take on shorthanded Wizards at home

New, comments

The Heat look to take advantage of a Wizards team ravaged by injuries Friday night

NBA: Washington Wizards at Miami Heat Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Game Story:

The Heat currently sit at 18-18 and in sole possession of the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference. They’ve gotten healthier with Dion Waiters rejoining the team, and look to finally be making a push as they were one of the stronger teams in December.

As many pointed out earlier in the season, the Heat are too talented to be a lottery team. With Justise Winslow making the jump at point guard, they’ll be in a real position to make moves come trade deadline. It’s an interesting place for Miami, a lot more-so than the Wizards. Having lost John Wall, Dwight Howard and Markieff Morris the Wizards are struggling to keep things together.

This should still be a competitive one, especially with Tom Satoransky coming into his own.

Probable Starters:

Heat: Justise Winslow, Josh Richardson, Rodney McGruder, James Johnson, Hassan Whiteside

Wizards: Tomas Satoransky, Bradley Beal, Thomas Bryant, Jeff Green, Trevor Ariza
