Game Preview: Heat hit the road in third attempt to beat Hawks

New, comments

Atlanta has 11 wins so far, can Miami avoid losing to them for the third time this season?

NBA: Atlanta Hawks at Miami Heat Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Game Story:

The Miami Heat finally have a winning record again at 19-18 after defeating the Washington Wizards at home Friday night, and though they are at the top of the Southeast Division they still face a tough task on the road tonight when they face the team in last place.

Even though the Atlanta Hawks have just 11 wins this season, two of those came against the Heat: a 123-118 victory on Nov. 3 in Atlanta and a narrow 115-113 decision on Nov. 27 in Miami. The Heat are playing much more consistently these days despite the absence of All-Star point guard Goran Dragic, but can they take care of business against one of the weakest teams in the NBA? Earning a win tonight would be another positive step forward for Miami with tough games against the Denver Nuggets, Boston Celtics, Memphis Grizzlies, Milwaukee Bucks and Detroit Pistons coming up.

Probable Starters:

Heat: Justise Winslow, Josh Richardson, Rodney McGruder, James Johnson, Hassan Whiteside

Hawks: Trae Young, Daniel Hamilton, Kevin Huerter, John Collins, Dewayne Dedmon
