Udonis Haslem tweeted a link to an article Monday, including him speaking with Basketball Insiders and confirming that he will retire at the end of this season.
Below is an excerpt from the article:
“I’m gonna call it done too. There’s nothing else left for me to do on the basketball court,” Haslem told Basketball Insiders. “My kids are getting older, my son is playing college football at the University of Toledo, my 11-year-old is playing travel baseball and I never see him as he’s always out of town. My eight year old is playing travel basketball. There’s so many other things for me to be engaged in right now.”
Haslem and Dwyane Wade, who both joined the Miami Heat as rookies in 2003, both signed one-year deals before this season. Wade said that this season would be his last, and has exchanged jerseys with opponents throughout the season. But Haslem did not say whether the 2018-19 season would be his last — until now.
