Dion Waiters’ NBA season won’t start when the Miami Heat open their season Wednesday due to conduct detrimental to the team.
He may come to regret what he did just hours after Miami announced his suspension.
On Instagram Sunday morning, Waiters’ verified account wrote “lol” in response to someone who said that Tyler Herro was “far and away” better than Waiters. He also wrote in a separate comment that he’d also win if he had LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh — an apparent dig at Heat coach Erik Spoelstra.
Dion saying Spo only won because of LeBron & Wade, laughing at idea of Tyler Herro being better than him and ‘liking’ comments about waiving/trading him.

In announcing the suspension Saturday night, Pat Riley said that “there were a number of unacceptable incidents this week, culminating with his unprofessional conduct on the bench last night.” The Associated Press’ Tim Reynolds said that Waiters and Spoelstra “got into a discussion” during Friday night’s preseason finale against the Houston Rockets.

In addition to suspending Waiters for the season opener, the Heat also dismissed James Johnson from training camp due to his failure to meet conditioning requirements.
