Jimmy Butler to skip Milwaukee Bucks and Minnesota Timberwolves games

Personal reasons will keep Butler on ice until next week.

The Miami Heat announced Jimmy Butler won’t be available for their statement game against the Milwaukee Bucks or his homecoming versus the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Congratulations to Butler and his mate on their newly arrived bundle of joy, with health and happiness for all.

Luckily for the Heat two-way players Chris Silva and Daryl Macon can dress without counting against their 45-day NBA limit for these two contests

Neither James Johnson or Dion Waiters will see duty during this brief road trip before the team returns to face the Atlanta Hawks next week.

Look for Kendrick Nunn and Tyler Herro to make their case as unheralded rookie finds with extended time on the hardwood as the rotation players become identified.

In the first CBS Sports Rookie Power Rankings this season Nunn came in second place and Herro sixth on the list.

On Nunn, “He showed off his speed and handles against the Grizzlies in his first NBA game, and got to the rim at will.”

On Herro, “The Kentucky product his known for his sharpshooting capabilities, but he was getting it done from everywhere on the floor.”

ESPN BPI projections has the Heat finishing tied for fourth in the Eastern Conference, along with the Toronto Raptors, with a record of 46-36 as of today.

That’s without Butler, Waiters, or Johnson, so when the roster issues settle down the Heat may produce some pleasant surprises for their fans.
