Kendrick Nunn’s performances in his first three regular-season games for the Miami Heat received deserved recognition in the NBA.

As noted by rookiewire he was among the six finalists in the voting for the Eastern Conference NBA Player of the Week award won by Trae Young.

Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young and Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns have been named the NBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for Week 1 of the 2019-20 season (Oct. 22-27).

The other four nominees were Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kyrie Irving, Pascal Siakam and Jayson Tatum, which is excellent company to be associated with, especially since he’s the only rookie among them.

As noted in the Miami Heat tweet below he’s demonstrated a promising scoring acumen to start his career in the NBA.

fam - y’all know if we’re posting a video that’s 4 minutes and 54 seconds long it’s worth seeing. Watch all of @NunnBetter_’s HEAT rookie record setting points this season.

Now that he’s on the enemy’s scouting report, we’ll see how he responds to the opponent’s game plan to stop him, although teams will have to take into account Jimmy Butler being on the court alongside him.

That said, Butler will take some of the scoring load off of Nunn, so look for some of Nunn’s points flow towards Butler.

A backcourt of Justise Winslow, Nunn and Butler should provide Heat fans with exciting action to look forward to this season.
