The Miami Heat suspended Dion Waiters without pay for the third time this season, citing “continued insubordination.” He will be eligible to return after the Heat face the Utah Jazz on December 23.

Waiters first appeared on the team bench during the Heat’s 2-1 road trip earlier this month that included wins against the Brooklyn Nets and Toronto Raptors and a loss to the Boston Celtics. That was after Waiters had served a suspension for 10 games for conduct detrimental to the team. The former Syracuse guard was also suspended for the team’s season opener.
