Briante Weber, who finished the 2015-16 season with the Miami Heat and competed for a roster spot during this season’s Heat training camp, left the Sioux Falls Skyforce to sign with the Olympiacos team in Greece. The Skyforce are the Heat’s G League affiliate team.
Can confirm that longtime Heat prospect Briante Weber has left the Heat's G League affiliate to sign in Greece to play for Olympiacos under former Cavaliers coach David Blatt. Weber was free to sign with any team, not under direct contract to the Heat.— Ira Winderman (@IraHeatBeat) February 5, 2019
Weber probably had his best chance to sign with the Heat in December, after Goran Dragic sustained a knee injury that has kept him out since then. But Erik Spoelstra shifted Justise Winslow to the Heat’s starting point guard, and the Heat didn’t sign Weber to serve as the backup.
