The Russell Westbrook to Miami rumour saga is in full force. From photoshops, to fake insider information it’s clear that Heat-Nation is going a little crazy over this one. But rightfully so. The fact is even if Russ doesn’t end up in Miami, it’s exciting to see the Heat go after stars again especially after multiple years in basketball purgatory.

Still, fans are reluctant to sell the farm for Westbrook, especially after a terrible shooting season. It seems like the Heat are too. In a report by the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson, he explains the Heat don’t want to include Bam Adebayo or Rookie, Tyler Herro in a trade saying:

“The Heat and Thunder have been discussing potential combinations of players, and those specifics remain unknown. But indications are the Heat would prefer not to include Bam Adebayo or Herro. This trade would be highly appealing to the Heat if Miami can merely shed contracts of players not in its long-term plans, but it’s questionable if the Thunder would go for that.”

It will be interesting to see how the Heat front office navigates this. Miami’s offseason has been great so far, but it remains to be seen just how steep OKC’s asking price actually is.
