Heat big man, Bam Adebayo has been invited to join Team USA in Las Vegas later this month for the Team USA basketball training camp. The actual FIBA World Cup in China, begins later this month (August 31st to September 15th). According to Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel, Bam received a late invitation because of many NBA talents opting out of the camp (mostly due to the fact that the tournament only ends two weeks before NBA training camps).
Our man Bam is bringing the HEAT to @usabasketball!

With 18 players currently on the roster, Bam will be competing for one of 12 roster sports for the World Cup. Other players joining Bam include, Kyle Lowry, Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum, Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez, Andre Drummond, Kyle Kuzma, Harrison Barnes, Donovan Mitchell, Myles Turner and PJ Tucker. This is a great situation for Bam, as he gets to practice with some of the NBA’s elite, and be coached by one of the greats in Gregg Popovich.
With Kelly Olynyk representing Team Canada, Bam won’t be the only Heat player on a national team. It’ll be great to see what both can accomplish in the coming months. Team USA Training Camp begins August 5th.
