Bradley Beal tweeted at Meyers Leonard. Does it mean anything?

New, comments

Chad Johnson tweeted that he loves “seeing this type of content from teammates.”

As I discussed earlier this week, the Washington Wizards planned to offer guard Bradley Beal a three-year extension Friday.

And what did Beal do Friday, July 26? No one has reported that he’s signed the extension. Last night, Beal tweeted in response to current Heat center Meyers Leonard.

Chad Johnson, the former NFL player, took to Twitter to add, “I love seeing this type of content between teammates.”

For what it’s worth, Johnson and Jimmy Butler exchanged tweets June 30 — just before the NBA’s free agency period officially started — suggesting Butler would sign with the Heat. Johnson even offered to pick Heat rookie Tyler Herro up to show him some food spots in Miami. He’s been a veritable Heat ambassador this summer.

When is a tweet more than a tweet? Will Beal demand a trade to Miami at some point in the next six months or so? Beal and Leonard were both selected in the lottery of the 2012 NBA Draft, so it’s possible the two are simply friends encouraging each other.

We need some more information, but it’s a good sign that Beal hasn’t signed the extension as of now.
