NBA Finals update: Dragic, Adebayo listed as doubtful for Game 2

Both Heat starters are recuperating from injuries suffered in Game 1 but are not ruled out just yet.

The Miami Heat not only were blown out of Game 1 of the NBA Finals by the Los Angeles Lakers but also suffered injuries to their three most important players: First it was Jimmy Butler rolling his ankle, then Goran Dragic left the game in the first half and never returned while Bam Adebayo appeared to injure his left shoulder soon afterwards.

While Butler returned to the floor in the second half, and would eventually roll his ankle again, Adebayo joined Dragic in the locker room as the Heat were getting manhandled by LeBron James and Anthony Davis in the convincing Lakers victory to take the Game 1 win.

Though nothing official has been announced, the early reports are that Dragic suffered a plantar tear in his left foot — though he hasn’t been ruled out returning to play.

Thankfully, X-rays on Adebayo for his shoulder strain reportedly returned negative after the game, though it remains to be seen just how healthy he’ll be in Game 2.

Hot Hot Hoops will continue to update this page with any further injury news on the Heat’s three starters as they come in.

UPDATE:

The Miami Heat as of Thursday afternoon are listing both Dragic (left foot torn plantar fascia) and Adebayo (neck strain) as doubtful for Game 2 on Friday night. Thankfully, no injury details were provided for Butler and he appears to be good to go for tomorrow.
