The Miami Heat selected Precious Achiuwa with the 20th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. And I’m here to tell you that you should love this pick!

Yes, there was a lot of chatter that the Heat would be interested in Tyrese Maxey who was available, but this pick is actually what the Heat need. They wanted size, and with who was available, Achiuwa is a great pick.
Achiuwa is a 6’9 F/C with a 7’2 wingspan. A versatile and mobile defender who does a great job attacking the offense glass, rim running in transition and relentless in pursuit of the ball. In fact, he may just be all that Miami is.
Precious Achiuwa to the Heat is my favorite prospect/team fit of the draft so far. Just a perfect stylistic match, he plays so hard, brings versatility on both ends. Miami's player development system should help him improve his flaws. Full scouting report: https://t.co/ccKkAgcPP5 pic.twitter.com/JzZyP7imh6

A perfect fit, says Kevin O’Connor. And that is exactly what the Heat culture needs — players that fit their mold. Achiuwa has a lot of room for improvement on top of what he already can offer the Heat starting this season.
Achiuwa has the aspirations to be something special.
ESPN's Fran Fraschilla told me recently about Precious: “If he falls to 20, it’s a steal. He has Miami Heat written all over him. He wants to be Kawhi..He would love to show everyone he can shoot it from outside; and he may be able to do that [eventually].High level NBA athlete."

If Precious does develop and outside shot that is consistent, then boy do the Heat have a great player.
This is a good pick for Miami. It fills a need. They didn’t need another guard or wing as much as they needed someone with size and mobility. Bam was the only physical player that could defend both from the paint and perimeter. Kelly Olynyk and Meyers Leonard are not that versatile. Precious can be — so if he can find his way offensively, then he is a great addition.
You should love this pick because Precious will always leave it all out there and he will play hard like you want Heat Culture to be.
