According to a few reports, the Miami Heat are no longer involved in talking with the Houston Rockets about a deal involving James Harden.
Per source, Heat no longer are engaging Rockets when it comes to Harden. Was told conversation never was more than cursory, but that, of course, always is a matter of perspective. Heat made clear on eve of 2018-19 season they were out of Jimmy Butler talks for that season.

According to a source, the Heat is no longer involved in trade talks for Rockets star guard James Harden. Source said there was an initial call put in by the Heat to check in with the Rockets on the Harden situation, but it didn't go far. Heat opens the regular season Wednesday.

The Miami Heat are not actively pursuing James Harden at this time, AP is told by a source with direct knowledge of the matter.
— Tim Reynolds (@ByTimReynolds) December 21, 2020
There was preliminary talk between the teams; I would imagine almost every team had those with the Rockets.
Obviously, this source hit the marks, informing Anthony Chiang, Ira Winderman, and Tim Reynolds all with the same information.
The Heat seemed to be focused on the group just days before the NBA season begins for them on Wednesday in Orlando.
James Harden wants out of Houston, that is clear — but the asking price for him, at least for now, seemed to be too high for the Miami Heat. Miami Has plenty of young and hopeful talent that they believe will be a contender this year along with their veterans who led them to the NBA Finals last year.
Just because it is no longer a talking point now, doesn’t mean they won’t revisit it. The question will become how quickly do the Rockets want him gone and are the willing to come down from their steep price.
Stay tuned.
