Miami Mayor Francis Suarez announced that Northeast 7th Street has been renamed Dwyane Wade Boulevard, according the the Miami Herald.

That’s the street that runs perpendicular to Biscayne Boulevard right in front of AmericanAirlines Arena.

The move is now a new culmination in what has been Wade weekend. From the documentary to the jersey retirement to a street being named after the Miami Heat legend. Dwyane Wade deserves it.

After 13 straight seasons with the Heat and then his final one and a half, he finished as the franchise leader is points, assists, steals and games played.

We’ve been used to the phrase “there will be a parade down Biscayne Boulevard!” And now, in the future, whenever it comes, that parade will also have to pass by Dwyane Wade Boulevard.

Wade has solidified himself in the city of Miami and the street is now a permanent reminder of the guard’s great contribution to not only the Miami Heat franchise but the city as well.

Here’s where it is located.

Next up...a statue.
