After being traded from the Golden State Warriors to the Memphis Grizzlies, Iguodala has not played one game this season. Reports have linked him to joining a championship-contending team like the Los Angeles Lakers from the beginning of the season. Although Iguodala is 36, he still could offer value for Miami as a perimeter defender, especially with Justise Winslow in the midst of an injury-plagued season.
Iguodala is on an expiring contract worth $17.2 million this season. James Johnson and Dion Waiters figure to be involved in such a swap. And although Johnson and Waiters may not have much trade value, the alternative may be Iguodala sitting out the rest of the season.
