The Miami Heat and AmericanAirlines Arena announced that they will provide disaster relief assistance to team and arena part-time employees during the NBA’s suspension due to the coronavirus pandemic. Moreover, the Heat will provide assistance to workers with concessions, security and housekeeping.

The Micky and Madelaine Arison Family Foundation will donate an additional $1 million to establish an initiative for employees and other community needs.
The NBA season has been suspended since March 11, after Rudy Gobert tested positive for the coronavirus. Adrian Wojnarowksi of ESPN reported that there is some hope of restarting the season and playoffs before July.
