Miami Heat forward Derrick Jones Jr. has tested positive for coronavirus, a source told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel’s Ira Winderman. He is the first known Heat player to test positive.

Jones, who has been asymptomatic, was tested Tuesday, when mandatory testing for NBA players and staff started.

According to the NBA’s health and safety manual, Jones must self-isolate until he receives at least two consecutive negative COVID-19 tests more than 24 hours apart. He then needs to undergo a cardiac screening.

The Heat are scheduled to take a bus trip to the Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coranado Springs Resort July 9 — exactly two weeks from now.
