The Miami Herald’s Anthony Chiang reported that Heat President Pat Riley, who is 75 years old, will not travel with the team for today’s bus ride to Disney’s World Wide of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista. The NBA will resume its season there, which has come to be known as the “Disney bubble.”

Due to his age, Riley is considered to be at-risk for contracting the virus. General Manager Andy Elisburg will also remain in South Florida to prepare for free agency and the draft, Chiang reported. Heat assistant general manager Adam Simon will travel with the team.
Chiang also reported that Derrick Jones Jr. has recovered from COVID-19 and will travel on the team’s bus ride. The two other players who have tested positive will not join the bus ride, but they are expected to join the team later. The NBA will hold its first “seeding” games to round out the regular season July 30.
